NAHB International Builders’ Show is one of the only weeks each year where you can see the future of building in real time. Not on a screen. In your hands. In real conversations with the people shaping what comes next.
This year in Orlando, we’re walking IBS with one filter.
Wellness.
Not the buzzword version. The built in version. The systems behind the walls and the discipline behind the process that determine how a home feels to live in for the next 10, 20, 30 years.
And this year is different for us. We’re doing a full wellness walk with our Director of Operations and our Client Success Manager. We’re not just browsing. We’re pressure testing every spec, every system, and every partner against one goal.
Improving what we’re building into Project Vitala, which will become our standard for wellness in the built environment and the flagship Bradford home.
The Filter We’re Using on the Show Floor
As we walk the booths, we’re asking the same questions over and over.
- Does it measurably improve how the home feels to live in?
- Does it increase longevity and reduce future risk?
- Does it simplify the experience without sacrificing performance?
- Does it integrate cleanly into a system, not as a random add-on?
That is what separates a trend from a standard.
I’m Speaking Twice, and I'd Love to Connect
Both sessions are open to all IBS registrants. If you’re there, come say hey after. I’m always up for comparing notes with builders who care about raising the standard. These topics are directly connected to wellness building. Higher standards require a company that can scale without losing quality, and a brand that attracts people who value what’s behind the walls.

The People and Partners I’m Prioritizing this Week
Buildertrend
Before we talk products, we have to talk execution.
A high-performance home requires a high-performance company. Documentation, communication, predictable schedules, clear decisions, and a client experience that stays calm even when the build is complex.
We’ll be celebrating Buildertrend’s 20th anniversary because process protects the standard. Great homes are not built with chaos behind the curtain.
The Home Depot Path to Pro
One of our newest partnerships is Path to Pro, and I’m excited about it because it solves a real problem.
We do not have a demand problem. We have a talent pipeline problem.
Path to Pro helps tradespeople build skills, post resumes, and get connected with builders who are actively hiring hungry talent ready to work. If we want better homes, we need stronger trades.
Everpure Home Backed by Pentair
Water is a daily wellness input. It shows up in hydration, showers, cooking, and in the details that signal quality like ice and coffee.
Their NAIA system is a true water appliance. Not a small add-on. A system that elevates everyday living and protects the home long term.
I also love that they demonstrate it the right way. The best coffee shops obsess over water. This week, they’re bringing that to life with barista coffee and afternoon mocktails to show how water quality elevates the entire experience.
HydroBlok
For wellness, the envelope is everything.
If the wall assembly is not tight, durable, and moisture managed correctly, you will never fully win on comfort, air quality, or longevity. Great finishes cannot out-design a compromised enclosure.
This is why we’re spending time here. We’re refining the standard behind the walls so the home performs for decades.
Time with our National Pella Team
Windows matter for wellness more than most people realize. Comfort, condensation control, acoustics, and how a home feels in every season.
We’ll be with our Pella team around the fringe because the best partnerships are built in real conversations, not quick handshakes in a booth aisle.
The Fringe Events that Make IBS Worth It
One of the most valuable stops is the Contractor Coalition Summit. Being in the right room compresses time. You learn faster, meet better people, and leave with real alignment.
Tuesday also includes the Greater Atlanta Home Builders Association happy hour. Home base matters, and the Atlanta builder community has been a meaningful part of our story.
Wednesday morning, I’m doing yoga. If I’m going to lead with wellness, I have to live it too. Body movement and a reset sets the tone for the day.
Then there are private dinners with our closest partners. The show floor is where you discover. Private dinners are where you align and build what’s next together.
What Matters in Wellness-Driven Building
Wellness is not a final selection. It is a standards conversation. The right questions are simple.
- How is the home protected from moisture long-term?
- How is comfort and quiet achieved season after season?
- How is water treated for drinking, bathing, ice, and appliance longevity?
- How is the build documented so that the standard is repeatable and the outcome is predictable?
Those answers tell you whether wellness is real or just marketing.
Why We’re Doing IBS This Way
We’re not going to collect swag and take photos next to signs.
We’re going with our leadership team to refine the standard, upgrade the specs, strengthen the partnerships, and bring home what actually improves life inside the walls of a Bradford home.
If you’re going to be at IBS, come connect. I’ll see you in Orlando.
